For various use cases (like implementing the "Deform Curves on Surface" node as a group),
we need access to the original geometry of an object. One proposal was to break apart the
"Object Info" node into separate nodes with more clear purposes:

{F13561065 size=full}

{F13561067 size=full}

The general "Info" nodes are generally not scalable, and their purpose is vague
enough that they aren't as intuitive to use. This design means there are separate
nodes for different use cases.

The "Object Transform" node could have a matrix output in the future.

What is the meaning of computed geometry for a self object? If it's only for other objects, then does it look like a mode of operation rather?

It would give an error, like the current object info node.

Using a single node to retrieve both evaluated and original geometry sounds fine to me too. I used separate nodes above since I expect retrieving the original geometry to be a niche use case, but I don't have strong feelings about that.

what about 'object data' for the last node - and object color is accessible here (along with transform) ?

The color of an object can be obtained through a standalone node.

Talked with Hans in chat. Having a combined Object Geometry node instead of separate Original Geometry and Evaluated Geometry nodes works better with a potential future design where an object may have multiple geometry slots.
