Worked: didn't work
Hey all!
I was just installing Blender on my new rig and found this issue, that I can't render with my GPU. For some reason, it won't show shadows when I switch to GPU computing and crash when I try to move back to the viewport view.
Have the latest Nvidia drivers, also tried with newer blender versions, same issue.
Also tried Optx, same result.
Also tried applying just one gpu in the settings, it doesn't work, looks like I can only render with my CPU.
Any tips?

Hello, please, add header from
ok thanks, will make another ticket reporting from there

or I can just copy it here like this?

Yes, thank you
Also, it makes sense to check this problem on newer versions (like 3.3, 3.4)
Since old releases will most likely not be fixed
Tried it with this one too and I still had the same issue:

Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)
I even started to get errors like this when opening Blend files.
I tried installing the latest game-ready driver, so now I have tried with both kinds of drivers, and I still have the issue.

Hi, thanks for the report. Do you see both your GPUs in {nav Preferences > Systems > Cycles Render Devices} tab?
Does crash happen in particular file?
When exactly crash triggers? while rendering in viewport? when switched back to solid mode? or in final render?
Do you have multi- monitor setup?
Changed status from 'Needs Triage' to: 'Needs User Info'
Hi!
I see both of my GPU-s in the settings.
The crash happens in every Blender File (even in a basic cube sun setup).
The Crash triggers after exiting the render view. When I switch from render view to material view or normal viewport, the program just freezes.
I do have 4 monitors with my setup. 2 disconnected usually (because I turn my Cintiq off when not using with an extra monitor)
Hi, do you see any error message in render mode at top left corner. like:
Loading render kernels (may take a few minutes the first time)
Can you share logs?:
Do you've all monitors connected to single GPU? see: D13885: Fix #62651: Win32 Multiple Adapters Warning
Yeah, I see that message, and I wait, but then it just straight up freezes down and I have to kill it with the task manager.
The funny thing is that I can render just fine with Octane (other GPU render program)
blender_system_info.txt
blender_debug_output.txt
Hope I uploaded these correctly
Loading kernels do take some time so I'd suggest to wait for kernels to load.
This is not considered as a bug AFAIK
Oh wow, so I just had to wait a bit. Alright, now it works.
Although I still got a cursed blend file which I can't open due to that error message linked earlier.
Can you share that affected .blend file?
Unfortunately, I cannot, because it is from work and it is under NDA.
But I appreciate the support I got sofar, thank you!
ok. are all monitors connected to single GPU? Otherwise OpenGL error is likely to appear as said in #62651
Any news?
Hey!
I am really sorry, no news, I still can't open that one Blend file. I just considered it cursed and moved on.
Hi, will close this report for now since two different issues are described here.
If problem persists and you've found the exact eay of triggering the issue then please open a new report.
