Video Editing: Changing pitch is broken #28533

%%%Changing the pitch of a clip does not really change the pitch but changes the speed. This means the audio suddenly is to short/long for the video. Also the wrong audio is played if the clip is cut (the starting point seems to be miscalculated).

Besides having this fixed I would like to have a way to more comfortably change the pitch. Doing it like Milkytracker would be nice: Provide a way to change the pitch in steps of notes and octaves and then fine tune the pitch in the range of one note. This would be awesome!%%%

this would have to be implemented in C++, however I think it's not easy for someone without digital signal processing knowledge, take a first look here for what has to be done: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_timescale-pitch_modification

Please read the other comments - this is not a bug, but a feature request, so there's nothing to be fixed. And if you now wonder if this feature has been added yet: no.

@neXyon I'm sorry for asking, but there is this old To Do list, where bug reports where closed and placed on: https://developer.blender.org/T28533

Now this list is completely forgotten about, though several of the issues on the list are still valid(and the bug reports are closed), so I just wanted to check up with you.

Do you know if there has been any progress with any of the other audio related things on that list?

I guess you mean #55366? And no, none of those have been addressed. They are all limitations that have been there from the beginning and not really bugs, thus more like feature requests.
