%%%Windows 7 64bit
Radeon HD5770
Blender 2.63.0 - r45996 (release)
Unfortunately i can not test it with an daily build: VCOMP90.DLL is missing on my computer (Maybe i havent found the right link)

So far, I have discoverd this only with the mirror modifier.

  • Open a new file, select the cube and go into edit mode.
  • Cut it halfway (Ctrl+R) along the Y or Z-Axes and delete one side.
  • Give it a mirrow modifier, it is now again a complete cube.

Problem:
If you grab and pull a vertice on the middle-edge, you will notice that the right side behaves different as the left -
the quad-poly faces do not "crinkle" in the same way. I hope i have found the right word.

Attached File:
Look at the yellow faces.%%%

%%%IMHO this isnt a bug - however, if it can be made to work without slowing down the mirror operation, then Im not against it.%%%

%%%I think this isnt a big problem on high-poly models, but on low-poly.

I noticed now, the "crinkle" of the mirrorside, is the exact opposite of the original.
For my models, this produces really ugly results:
The round surface from the one side turns into a zigzag-surface on the other side.

This is no mirror anymore. It has worked as expected in previous builds/releases.
Please change it back.

%%%Forgotten to mention:

  • you will see a different edit-mode and object-mode-mesh regarding the "crinkle", on any object
    Might be a deeper problem.

At any rate, it causes an overwork if you want to use the mirror for your projects.
Have to set all quad-polygons to triangles and rearrange them.%%%
