3D Viewport Update Bug #31559

%%%I am using Blender SVN Rev 46877 Debug Build on Fedora 16 Linux.

Prebeg on irc noticed a bug with Blender 3D Viewport Updating.

To demonstrate the bug I have attached a Blend file which contains 2 3D Viewport regions showing the same scene of a textured cube.

If you go into Weight Paint Mode and on the left hand side 3D Viewport and paint on the cube, you should notice that in the right hand 3D Viewport, the cube updates its weight on the first click, as you continue dragging the mouse around the rest of the weight painting doesnt update until you move the mouse pointer over the right hand 3D Viewport.

That same also appears to be true of Vertex Paint Mode, in that the right hand cube will not update until you move the mouse pointer over the 3D Viewport on the right hand side.

Also don't know if this counts as a bug or not but even the modes that do update in the right hand viewport only do so once you release the mouse button.

These issues also seem to be there for windows that have been duplicated into seperate windows.

Attached the Blender file, and my system-info.txt file.%%%

%%%Hi Terry, I'm that Prebeg from Irc :-) Just to give more hints for this bug:

If you switch Window Draw Method to Full, both viewports will be updated in all modes. Only edit and object mode will do that regardless of what Window Draw Method is active.

What doesn't work for painting modes at all (Sculpt, Vertex, Texture and Weight) is real-time updating of duplicated viewport. Again, changes in edit and object mode are visible instantly.%%%

%%%Fixed in svn rev47413.

Note that update happens at the end of stroke only because doing update in every stroke might easily end up performance slowdown.

Thanks for the report, closing now.%%%
