Cases where verts and edges are selected but not relevant faces #31715

Tested,

  • Blender 2.63a from blender.org
  • Blender r47429

There are times where a face is not selected whilst the surrounding vertices are.

In one instance there are the loop cut tool doing this with cuts greater than 1.

  • Enter vertice or edge mode
  • Add a dual loop cut to default cube, only the verts or edges are selected
  • Switching directly to face mode there will be no current selection

Another instance is when I presume after certain conditions whereas using L key to select linked will only sect the vertices and edges (0 faces are selected). It appears to consistently happen after an undo.

  • Enter vertice or edge mode
  • Default cube
  • Grab a vertice or edge, move it somewhere
  • Undo
  • Deselect all (A key)
  • Select linked with L key
  • No faces are selected
  • Deselecting and reselecting results in the same no faces selected until another action is committed to the mesh (ie move vertice again)

I am not sure it happens only after an undo but this is the time I can reproduce it.

Unable to verify second part as the instructions seem to have an error in the order or a missing step.
