Quick Explode Bugs related to it's fade option #31840

%%%I am using Blender 2.63 SVN Rev 47592 Debug Build on a Fedora 17 Linux Box.

I noticed what seesm to be a couple of bugs in the Quick Explode feature Blender has.

Attached my system-info.txt file and a blend file to try and show the issue.

Issue 1:

If you open the supplied blend file and select objects Ico1 and then Ico2 so
that they are both selected at the same time and then run the Quick Explode
feature on them. Both Icospheres will explode if you scrub through frames.

If you go to the Quick Explode Operator Panel and change the Explode Style
to Blend and then scrub through frames. The Explode Style Blend option
is ignored. It will only work if you then turn off the fade option.
Once the fade option is deselected. The Explode Style menu works as
expected, in that you get keyed particle objects that morph between each
other when scrubbing the frames. If after disabling fade, you re-enable it,
the blend explode style still appears to work. Only when the file is
first opened is the fade command stopping blend option from working.

Issue 2:

If you restart Blender and open the blend file provided. If you select
all 3 Icosphere objects and do the Quick Explode command on them all at the
same time, and set the Explode Style to blend, it should issue an error
saying that you must have only 2 object selected. It does not, and again
it appears to be because of the fade option being selected.

If you deselect fade and then undo the quick explode with ctrl+z or delete
all the particle systems on the 3 objects and then select the 3 Icospheres
and try to add Quick Explode to them, then you get the error message,
because the Operator Panel remembers you disabled fade this time around. %%%

%%%fix for issue 1 is attached (part of the code was skipped due to an error relating to color ramp element colors not being the same type as material diffuse colors)

Issue 2 I will have to investigate more (the code actually reaches the point of the error message but this doesnt seem to get executed in redo?!)%%%

%%%Bastien, this doesn't sound difficult for me. And fix for part1 seems reasonable? Can you please check n\on this? Thanks!%%%

%%%Fixed part 1 as r48086 (thx for the patch, Philipp).

Part 2 had nothing to see with fade (nor with this specific operator, in fact), reports where just not shown when repeating an operator… Hopefully fixed as r48085 (yes, before part one! :p ).

Thanks for the report, closing! :)%%%
