Delete Branch "%!s(<nil>)"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
%%%Edges that are not part of a face (simple case: a single edge, cf. attached .png-file) give strange results when you apply the Subsurf modifier to them (Mode: Simple Subdivision).
More specifically, they react almost as if Catmull-Clark was selected: One single edge shrinks down and is subdivided unevenly, two connected edges lead to a curve (cf. attached .blend-file).
This is a problem because there are some cases in which you want (need) to subdivide a single edge evenly, for example after a hook deformation or other animation steps. This is not possible, although at least I would expect this modifier in this mode to do exactly that. Other users in the German Blender Forum confirmed both the problem and the fact that the result is not as expected.
Build: r49559, Win, 64, from graphicall, and older builds.
System: Windows 7 Pro 64%%%

%%%This indeed looks wrong to me, but interestingly I was able to confirm this behavior goes back at least to 2.49b.
If we change it now, could break older files. Perhaps should change behavior and add a compatibility flag to the subsurf mod so that it can do both methods?%%%
%%%Nick, don't actually think having option for such a thing makes much sense. It could be really confusing. Personally i would just make things behaving logical here.
Would worth asking Campbell's opinion too, tho.
Hope it's ok to assign the issue to you :)%%%
