%%%I don't understand this report... are you saying Blender is crashing when you edit nodes? Then we need a .blend file and the steps to redo the crash. It can be difficult to figure out which steps exactly make it happen, but there's really nothing we can do unless we have that information.

The error log unfortunately doesn't give us information we can use.%%%

%%%Are you saying Blender is crashing when you edit nodes? -> Yes, this exactly this.

when I change my compositing nodes it is that the crash occurs. It is therefore necessary to recalculate the image and then redo all the nodes.

I ask a colleague if he had the same problem and this is exactly the same with the same version of Blender.

For your information, I forget to add that I turn on two GTX580 card.

I've made the commitment problem file.

Thank you.

%%%I tried rendering and then editing the nodes in this file for about 5 minutes, but it didn't crash for me. Maybe it's a specific operation that crashes, we'd need to find that out.

You could also try the 2.65 test build, there have been some compositing fixes since 2.64 which might have solved this:
http://download.blender.org/release/Blender2.65/

Also by the way, you can use "Save Buffers" in the Performance panel for rendering, and the after a crash or blender restart run "Read Render Layers" in the node editor to get the rendered result. Not a real solution for the crash but for heavy renders it can be nice to enable this.%%%

%%%Bonjour,

Je viens de tester la manipulation "cocher Save Buffers" puis j'ai repris le travail des nodes.

Lorsque j'ai fait comme sur la pièce jointe, Blender à fermé. Voila ce que le retourne le log:
Nov 28 07:18:18 geeks-To-be-filled-by-O-E-M kernel: [ 937.670855] do_general_protection: 39 callbacks suppressed
Nov 28 07:18:18 geeks-To-be-filled-by-O-E-M kernel: [ 937.670859] blender[6325] general protection ip:d708f0 sp:7f2694ffac00 error:0 in blender[400000+3f2e000]

Merci beaucoup.

%%%Hello,

I just tested handling "check Save Buffers" then I resumed working nodes.

When I like the attachment, Blender closed. This is what the log returns:
Nov 28 07:18:18 geeks-To-be-filled-by-O-E-M kernel: [ 937.670855] do_general_protection: 39 callbacks suppressed
Nov 28 07:18:18 geeks-To-be-filled-by-O-E-M kernel: [ 937.670859] blender[6325] general protection ip:d708f0 sp:7f2694ffac00 error:0 in blender[400000+3f2e000]

I take this opportunity to send the generated file / temp / "DDWE year 4.blend_Scene_RenderLayer.exr Flash" and "2762.blend" correspondent.

I testerais in the day the version 2.65 on my computer hoping that this is resolved. I hope your joint analysis of files and correspondence with my logs allow for greater stability.

However, I may be misusing nodes and it may also be the reason of the crash. In which case it would be interesting to show an error message during the group node before starting a render. At this point, Blender would close more systematically.

I am not come to make attachments. I propose you a zip file containing the image and files. http://dl.free.fr/pOLM2M7zZ

Thank you very much.

%%%I can not reproduce the crash here on Debian with neither 2.64a release nor current trunk.

Couple of notes and questions:

  • It could be caused by memory limit. Try disabling Global Undo in user preferences and see if crash happens again.
  • Does it only happen if you're using GPU or if you're using CPU blender will also crash?
  • Are you using blender from blender.org site or from ubuntu repository?
  • Does it happen on any computer you've tested?
  • Am i right with that archive from your link i simply need to render and add nodes as you showed this on picture? Does blender always crash when you do this?

Anyway, please provice system-info.txt generated by Help -> System Info operator, provide hardware and OS information.%%%

%%%Hello,

If I understand correctly, with the current data file and it is not possible to reproduce the bug. In this case, what would change in the Glare or Compositing between version 2.63 and 2.64? Is there a track that SOTE there?

Thank you very much for your input, I understand it is quite difficult to find a random bug and then is not proven from files provided.

I still listen to whether to provide further guidance.%%%

%%%New compositor system was implemented in 2.64, that's quite a lot of changes ;)

From your system-info.txt i could see you're not using official build of blender. There could be some misconfiguration in build environment (like bug in gcc's openmp we suffered a lot before). So please, test f builds from http:*www.blender.org/download/get-blender/ or from http:*builder.blender.org/download/ crashes for you.%%%

Here is what I have been back in the console:

For me, the bug is not solved if a simple renderer compositing mode crashes Blender. That back to what was explained in another post http://projects.blender.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=33338&group_id=9&atid=498

I hope this new track will fix this bug in future versions.

But thank you for your involvement in the search for this bug.%%%

Alex.%%%
