This is most likely due to a corrupted install in some way… Please try to re-download and install Blender.

Also, please give us the exact error message you get, and have a look at Blender's console as well (you may have to enable it from main 'Window' menu of Blender).

Rubber preset works fine here on Win x64 with latest build. So as mont29 said, please reinstall Blender.

ok it's just when I put internationnal font(french)
put cloth on the cube with preset cotton
remove Closh and replace
now to preset rubber

Cannot reproduce that with current master… But there was a bug fixed yesterday that might be related to that case, could you please try with a build from http://builder.blender.org/download/ ?

same error

put international font in user pref.
click translate tooltip and new data
3)put cloth on cube , put preset cotton
remove cloth
replace cloth on cube and this time put preset rubber

Ok, so culprit is "translate data", can confirm the issue in this case… Will investigate that.
