Tested with latest build it does not work everywhere e.g.
make the properties full window
add texture but when you are in the file browser go back the the properties
And many other areas in blender

I made it so that canceling via escape or by pressing the "Cancel" button brings you back to the original fullscreen (try it, I bet it works). But maybe the "Back to Previous" button should behave like this as well....
Alright that works but for 2.74 you should document this is a form other then the bug section

The bug (as reported) is fixed, could you update the report? - this is too hard to follow at the moment.
I dont think there is any confusion but more for the discussion of weather how "Back to Previous" should work in these situations.
@ideasman42, the only issue that's still remaining is that "Back to Previous" closes both a temporary fullscreen and a user set fullscreen. E.g. using shift+spacebar to toggle into fullscreen + opening File Browser/render into Image Editor, "Back to Previous" should really bring you back to previous, in this case the fullscreen set with shift+spacebar. The fix I committed does this, but only for ESC key/Cancel button in file browser. Will have a look into the other thing as well.

Bug reports are not for discussion - if blender is broken it should be clear what fails.
Please always keep reports clear, If they are fixed but you don't think some other area is working as you expect, then open a separate report.
@ideasman42, agree, just left it open because I was worried we'd forget about it if it's just closed as todo, which would mean we had a only half working solution implemented. (I'm on it though)
