Short story: issue is in GLSL :)

Long story: Module a % b with a < 0 and b > 0 will be negative value, which is being clamped in the color input of the emission shader. In order to match preview you need to get absolute value of the modulo result. Same actually happens in BI.

GLSL seems to be doing abs value or so somewhere. Wouldn't mind having @Psy-Fi's eyes here.
