Mysterious goings-on in the Movie Clip Editor (or is it the Compositor?) #45123

Operating system: Windows 8 64-bit
Graphics card: AMD A10-5700 APU-Radeon 8GB RAM

Blender version
Broken: 2.74 and 2.75 RC1
Worked: --

When creating a mask in the Movie clip editor on a video clip and using the mask in the compositor to confine a filter to a portion of the frames, at render time the mask is skipped at random (or possibly the filter it's supposed to control). I have pulled the whole shebang apart but couldn't find out why this is happening.

All my drivers are up-to-date.

In the attached .blend the mask drops out at frames 12, 92 and 212.

Thank you for checking this out!

@ideasman42, this issue is easy to see in the clip editor itself even by enabling overlay option, so my best guess is that it's something wrong with the rasterizer, which does't do good job on clipping?

Note, this was in fact a years old bug in line intersection, it just happened to be exposed by this file.

Disabling mask layer Overlap works around the problem too (if you can't use a daily build).

Thanks Campbell, I'll try that!
