Do you get the error when using "Recover Last Session"?
It's possible that your Operating system empties your temp directory upon reboot, so it is possible this file no longer exists, see docs

Also: is it really looking for quite_blend? And not quit.blend?

marking as incomplete for now...

Good morning,
Sorry, yes it should be "quit.blend'" It all happened when I downloaded the program. I still did not do any 3D picture and did not do any changes in setting and yes, it shows in Recover Last Session. everytime I open Blender it starts with a black screen.

OK, so it seems "Recover Last Session" is not the problem here, but rather blender starting with a black screen, right?

  • could you try with a recent blender from https://www.blender.org/download/ (2.69 is rather old now)?
  • give us your exact Blender, OS and GPU (including drivers) versions, as requested in the template
  • try upgrading your graphics card driver.

Please report back if you still have issues (there are a couple of more things we could try)

I did a complete uninstall and downloaded from the link you provided in the email. The same still happens. I am using Win. Home 10 and it is a 64bit. The graphics card I'm using is Nividia. I don't have a job so I cannot upgrade. I do not have any problems with all my other programs.

@RuthAJ : by upgrading I meant your driver. Is upgrading that possible? http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

If not could you try to run Blender through Software OpenGL, this will be much slower however, if everything works then it means that the bug is specific for your GPU/Driver and you should report the bug to your GPU vendor instead.
On MS-Windows: Download this dll and copying it so its located in the same directory as 'blender.exe' and run Blender normally.

It sounds like something is preventing blender from having access to C:\Users\ruthaj\AppData\Local\Temp please make sure some antivirus is preventing this.
