Geometry Node boolean with empty collection #85771

Broken: version: 2.93.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2021-02-16 01:44, hash: 4a784f32fe
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

In geometry node when I do boolean with empty collection result on this node need be like input geometry without changes until we don't put an object in the empty collection but now it disappears.

I actually think that an intersection with an empty collection should output an empty mesh. However, for some reason it works differently for me than in your screenshots. Do you still have the same behavior?

The change doesn't surprise me since there has been some changes to the boolean code recently. There's another bug that I'm not sure is reported where intersecting inputs make the node not work. I think both of these should be fixed by D10599.

I think this should be fixed now, since the boolean node uses the same method as the modifier. Is that right @Drakosha?

modifiers are also not updated when objects are moved from collection to collection. And if you use Intersect (fast solver) with a collection, it does not work at all, only in exact mode

That's a known issue unfortunately. I tested the original issue from this report though, and it's not a problem anymore.
