Delete Branch "%!s(<nil>)"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

Short description of error
2.93 In any scene optix kernels will not load. Set to optix and GPU only in system. When rendering or viewport preview it sits indefinitely
through troubleshooting I read to delete optix cache and let it rebuild. Still no fix.
2.92 works no problem.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Default scene otherwise I just downloaded it, has not worked. Cuda works fine though

@jvemedia ,plenty of add-ons are enabled, disabling them may help you. So try again with default settings (
File -> Defaults -> Load Factory Settings)Attach .blend file if default settings does not fix the problem

@jvemedia , thanks for the file. Time to load the kernel can be high but what exactly it results in? does it freeze or crash?
Thanks for your help. If I press render it does just says loading indefinitely. If I try to cancel the render, or say I'm in viewport, when I switch back solid mode, blender as a whole freezes.

Looking at the Jesse's comment #88800#1181651 I think the present behavior is expected.
@deadpin , anything you want to mention here. Think it will take a fare amount of time for compilation on very first time,
Same happens on AMD GPU with OpenCL (at least for me) when using GPU compute device.
I downloaded the new Nvidia 471.68 Studio driver. Now even on version 2.92 Rendering stopped working. I put back 471.41, but it stopped working there too. Even at 2.83.17 it does not work. YouTube
Works in Blender 3.0. Thanks to this patch:
