Bendy bones saved in 3.0 break in older versions #89621

Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
If opened in older blender versions, bendy bones get turned into a thin line dirstorting the model as shown in the pictures below

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • get a model with bendy bones(in my case I have the rigify rig)
  • save in blender 3.0
  • open in blender 2.93.1

Files created in Blender 3.0 aren't expected to work 100% in Blender 2.93.1. As such this may not be considered a bug.

Will wait for a response from developers.

I have that issue too when port back rigs made in 3.0. to 2.93
In the meantime, You could fix it by going to the armature edit mode and select the bendy bone and reset its Scale In and Out like in your 3.0 default is 1
