System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce RTX 3090/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 456.71

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.0.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2021-10-06 22:38, hash: 439c9b0b84
Worked: 2.93.6 (0930a70e81)

Short description of error
I set a custom property and when I play with the value, the soft limit parametre gets switched on and reset to "0".

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • From the .blend file provided, select the object named "Parent".
  • Go to the "Object Data Properties" tab in the Properties Editor.
  • Go to the Custom Properties sub tab.
  • Chose the Property named "Buged_prop" and start by clicking on "Edit" to make sure it's the way I want to set it.
  • I want to set it so that "Use Soft Limits" is NOT Ticked (and to be safe, in case it gets ticked I also set the Soft Min and Soft Max values to be the same as the default values : respectively "0" and "1")
  • Then click "OK" to confirm the Edit and play with the value.
  • The normal behavior would be that the value switches from "0" to "1" (it's set to integer type).
  • But with me, I can switch it to "0" and it stays "0". It doesn't want to go to "1".
If you try Editing the Property again, you will see that the "Use Soft Limit checkbox" has been ticked ON! And Soft Min/Soft Max have been reset to "0"!!!
    That's the bug.

I can make it work if I keep the "Use Soft Limits" checkbox ON. The bug is when I want it OFF.

More context about the file :
That property (bugged_prop) is driving a Factor value from a Mix Shader node that is connected to the entry socket of a group node belonging to a Material of the Object named "Child".
[Side note : I also noticed (when simplifying the blend file to report the bug) that if I Edit a custom property by changing it's name, then the value stops beeing a driver (maybe thats normal but I wanted to point it out). It would be great if renaming the prop would also update the drivers path.]
The other two custom properties work just fine although I've unchecked the "Use soft limit checkbox" but they have a "float" type and not "int". And they are driving shape-keys of the same object.
