Shape Keys not scaling as intended #94359

System Information
Operating system: Win 10
Graphics card: Geforce 1050

Blender Version
3.0

Short description of error
Shape keys overrides the scaling when a key is set to zero.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Create a new mesh, add two shape keys (Basis and 1), activate Shape Key in edit mode, set value to 1 and scale the mesh to zero in edit mode while selecting key 1 in the shape keys. When you finish the edit, changing the key wont scale the mesh back. In a previous version of Blender (maybe 2.8 or something) i used this function as intended.

Hi, thanks for the report. You mean selecting "basis" in edit mode does not scale your mesh to normal?
Can not reproduce here if that's the case.

Or you mean changing value of shape key (in edit mode) to 0 ain't changing cube to default size?
I think this is expected. Because you will edit the mesh to blend between two states. So I think there is nothing to do with "value" (it's even grayed out).

Hello! How are you?
I made this short video demonstrating exactly what I did >

10-38-26.mp4

But the problem is that, when I made a new file with the custom square, everything works just fine... Maybe the problem is in this file? It was from previous Blender version, so it gave that pythom error message... is there something i could do without loosing this project?

You can notice that other changes, like position and rotation, works allright, but the scale to zero brings this "point of no return"

I worked it out... just made a new file and copied everything in and everything started to work properly. Thank you for your time! Happy Hollidays! =DD

Hi, thank you for checking. Will close then. Feel free to comment or submit a new report if issue persists.

Is it possible for you to share a .blend file where issue appeared for you? (Will investigate a bit)
