Short description of error
Crash when dragging mesh bool node onto the noodle
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open the file.
Drag the mesh boolean node onto the noodle as the annotation arrow indicates.
Blender crashes.
(I'd love to add the crash report, but the wiki sais it's in the temp folder, but it's not.)

Hey @user1, thanks for the report!
I cannot recreate the crash on my end. Inserting the node makes Blender not respond for a long while, but it comes around for me. The boolean node just seems to be pretty taxing with the dense geometry - in my case it takes almost eight minutes (467738 ms according to the overlay) to compute and Blender's memory use jumps to about 10 GB during that process.
Can you try again and make sure, that blender really crashes and it's not just being unresponsive for a long time or your setup running out of memory or something along those lines?
That being said, I would agree that even that long runtime alone is problematic, considering the second geometry input is empty when inserting the link. Taking a quick look at the Boolean node's code I wonder if a few early return statements could help...
On my end it gives up quite quickly. Some seconds freeze of the system, then blender crashes. Probably just overload, as you suspected. If you want to close this, i don't mind. If it's a real issue, it will jump back on our tables anyway sooner or later.

Can't reproduce either.
Perhaps Blender ran out of memory?
Or caused by old GPU? Can you upgrade your GPU driver?: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/troubleshooting/gpu/linux/nvidia.html
