System Information
Operating system: Linux Mint, Ubuntu (Latest stable versions)
Graphics card: GTX 1030
Blender Version
Broken: 3.0, 3.0.1
Worked: 2.8
Short description of error
Blender freezes on random frames in between rendering animation when hair particles are in the scene. I have tried on both Ubuntu and Linux mint, blender version 3.0 and 3.0.1. When rendering animation, if there is hair particles in the scene, the rendering freezes randomly at a some frame. I try the same file on Windows 10 and i don't have any issue. The issue only seems to be happening on Linux right now. My Linux machine has 64 gigs of DDR4 ram and 96 cores. A lot more than windows. The view port also seems to be a lot more stable in windows when dealing with particles.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Reporter_1--toUpload.blend
Render animation of any scene file with hair particles attached and issue will happen on Linux systems. Delete the hair particles or hide the particles from the render view and issue goes away.

Do you render with cycles? Does this happen with CPU and/or GPU rendering? Can you check eevee?
Can you run Blender from console with -d argument and upload output?
Even though you say this happens with any file, sample .blend file would be appreciated, so we can test exactly same data.
Sorry just seeing your reply. Will check evee, gpu with just a simple hair scalp in the file then post results. By the way, i checked with blender 3.1 and issue is still present only on linux. Works without an issue on windows.

@lichtwerk Can you check?
I need to find new live Linux that works with nvidia card, can't check at this moment.

@Mark-Gabbidon : got a minimal example file where this happens?
Changed status from 'Resolved' to: 'Needs User Info'
oops, wrong status
Yes... sending o{F12942911}. Here is the file. I was not able to simplify it much.. So the only way animation rendering works smoothly is after deleting the hair. The render will get stuck randomly on some frames for some time. It gets stuck for some time during the loading of the data phase and not the actual rendering.
Please let me know once you have downloaded the file so that i can delete it from this forum.
I wasn't able to reproduce. What is % chance of this issue happenning?
Happens with every animation render submission 100 percent. I will record a video with my phone and send link so that you can clearly see the issue.
Issue:
Will send video link of the issue..
Thanks
Mark

Do you have persistent data enabled? If yes, does disabling it make the freezing happen more frequently?
Also, I haven't seen the file yet, but does it contain only hairs or do you also instance objects on hairs? If yes, do those objects have volumes?
I will check for persistent data and let you know. The file only contains simple blender hair particles. Also it does not matter the file. As long as i add hair to any scene this issue occurs. Here is the video of the issue:

This report looks same to me as described in: #85267 (Rendering animation freezes with particle system)
@Mark-Gabbidon hi, can you confirm?
Also check mentioned workarounds from the report description of #85267
