Short description of error
When Scale gizmos appear on the screen everything freezes, either as soon as they appear on the screen, or few seconds later
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
There's this bug https://developer.blender.org/T77455, that was fixed, but looks like it appeared again

Hi, thanks for the report. Can you replicate this with factory reset?: {nav File > Defaults > Load Factory Settings}
Does this happen in default cube scene?
Yes, happens with factory settings
Yes, with default cube
Do you have this problem with other gizmo operations?
Also make sure you've GPU drivers up-to-date: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/troubleshooting/gpu/index.html
No
As far as I can see - yes, drivers are up-to-date
Can you upload system info file? {nav Help > Save System info}
system-info.txt Sure

After the freezing happens, are there any DRM error messages at the end of the output of
sudo dmesg
?Does the freezing still happens when executing Blender with
LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 blender
?Yes,
It doesn't freeze with
LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 blender
, but it's so slowOkay, that means that the GPU driver crashed and was reset, so this is probably not a Blender issue, but an issue in the GPU driver.
It is expected that the
LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE
command would be so slow, that's because it runs Blender on the CPU. I just wanted to confirm that the issue is specific to this driver.It is not clear to me what we can do here, but can you check if you have the latest drivers first?
