Short description of error
While exporting mesh with ngons with tangent spaces error message will provides you incorrect mesh name.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Blender will show error with mesh name Cube.001 (Mesh data of the object are Cube.079 in fact. Scene doesnt have any other meshes at all)

Thanks for the report. I can confirm.
This is only replicable when a modifier is added on mesh.

that's because a temp mesh is generated with modifiers applied is generated for the export... A bit annoying, but not really a bug.
