Short description of error
Every time I render my scene the rendering is working fine but as soon as I try to save the image or sometimes as soon as I try to do something else in Blender it immediately crashes. From time to time I can save the rendered image switching to the compositing tab using the "Save This Image" button of the output node. Most of the time nothing works for me.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. open scene
  2. render scene
  3. look at the beautiful final rendering
  4. try to save the image file or simply switch from render window to blender window

Did Blender not write crash log files? Those are typically located in C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Temp\[project name].crash.txt (or simply type %TEMP% into the path bar of the Windows Explorer).
Does this happen in a particular scene or in any scene? Even the default cube scene? If not, can you attach the file in question?
I can see some misbehaving add-ons, can you try factory settings? File > Defaults > Load Factory Settings.

Hello Omar Emara,
thanks for this really fast reply!

I also attached the crash report. It is not from the latest crash as it seems to not always write a crash log. Blender freezes for a bit and then simply closes.
web_template.crash.txt

Here is the scene crashing Blender. (I used 7zip for a smaller filesize)
web_template.7z

I had this issue quite some time ago (I don't use Blender a lot...) with another scene but not as regular as with this one. Those are relatively heavy scenes.

I tested it again: although I run Blender in debug mode the only files generated are blender_debug_output.txt and blender_system_info.txt
After a crash there is no [project name].crash.txt inside the temp folder! Blender simply closed without a single hint. It finished rendering, the image looks fine and Blender crashes.

Cannot reproduce the crash with attached file (tested in 3.3)
Call stack consists lib override related functions and those files you've not attached. Maybe that's why it didn't crash in my system.
Please attach those linked files. And also simplify the current project, this will help developers for debugging the problem. (remove unwanted objects, shaders, etc.)
Saved copy of rendered image:

New information:
I stripped down the scene to nearly minimum and again it crashed over and over again. Then I started Blender using "Factory Startup" and it rendered but veeeery slow! When I recognized that "Settings > System > Cycles Render Devices" was set to "None", I switched back to "CUDA" and rendered again: same problem. Blender crashed immediately.
My system has two GeForce GTX 980 Ti and an Intel Core i7-5930K, all enabled to be used for rendering. I think this is the reason it crashes. Using only one GPU (the one using the second monitor that does not have Blender on) and the CPU it does not crash but rendering is significantly slower.

This can't be called "solution", right? Rendering finished completely and Blender crashes. Is it related to the graphics card switching from "rendering" to "scene display"? I'm definitely not an expert, just guessing.

You need to provide the simplified files (containing the unattached library) for the developers to be able to replicate the problem.
But note that this may be related to hardware limitations (memory for example) or outdated driver versions.
So there is no guarantee that it will be replicated.

Please double-check if the drivers are up to date.
To upgrade to the latest driver, see here for more information: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/troubleshooting/gpu/index.html

I am sorry but could you get more specific on the "unattached libraries"? I don't know what you mean by that. I'm using "Blender launcher" to download and run Blender and I do have some plugins installed. Is this still relevant when launching the factory startup? Where do I see the "additional" libraries attached?

The latest NVIDIA drivers for my GPUs are installed. Sure there is quite some memory needed for the scene but it renders absolutely fine and it only crashes when trying to get back to Blender (to save the rendered image for example). This is crazy if you wait for hours or come back the next day, see your render, try to save it and boom. Without any crash log (sometimes there is?), notice, error, warning. This should have worked quite some versions ago but since I don't use Blender on a regular basis I may have missed that.

Libraries are the other user-created .blend files that contain the objects or data-blocks linked in the scene of the attached .blend file.
Without these other files, the attached .blend file is incomplete (doesn't have all the objects).
