I would like to keep the cross cursor in sculpt mode. It is not an issue with screen pen tablets, but it can be confusing with regular tablets. During a stroke, the cursor preview shows the last updated step position, so it can lag way behind the mouse.
So to be clear, the intent is this?
- Dot for grease pencil, 3D texture paint, 2D image paint, vertex paint and weight paint
- Cross for sculpt
And what about tools like Fill, Mask and Gradient, should they have Dot or keep using Cross?
In any case, please carefully check that all tools in all paint and sculpt modes have the intended cursor when making changes here.
Just want to point out that as someone with shit vision(keratoconus), the dot cursor is not my friend. (Even on current master, using grease pencil is pretty rough for me now, and I regularly lose sight of where my cursor is until I leave the 3d viewport...)
There is an option for blind fellas like me in the user preferences, Interface->Display->Large Cursors, which I am very happy for. When this is enabled, dot cursor should never be a thing.
