This very small patch adds the .fountain format as a recognizable text format to the File Browser for import into the Text Editor.

"Fountain is a simple markup syntax for writing, editing and sharing screenplays in plain, human-readable text. Fountain allows you to work on your screenplay anywhere, on any computer or tablet, using any software that edits text files." Further reading:

The Blender Screenwriter add-on adds functions to actively write screenplays in Fountain and preview or export as correctly formatted screenplay. It can also can extract timings from the screenplay, and auto generate a VSE timeline currently with scenes as scene strips and dialogue as text strips. Automatically adding objects to each 3D scene as they appear in the screenplay is planned.
