Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.4.0, 3.3
Worked: (3.2)
Caused by

Short description of error
Shorter just to try it in the sample file. Its a dynamic paint setup that produces a vertex group. This group is used on a plane with a geonodes setup.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
#100562.blend

Join Geometry
node.RelizeInstanceBug.blend
And also, in earlier versions, the attribute was either ignored and did not cause a failure, or it was obviously not created correctly (this is a white gradient)
I found the reason. The vertex group and the color attribute are converted to attributes under the same name

I can confirm the crash too. Raising the priority.
This seems the reason behind crash. Renaming either of them doesn't cause the crash

Realize instance node crashes Blenderto Regression: Realize instance node crashes BlenderFull way to recreate:
Geometry canvas dynamic painting
Create a group of vertices, name simular as painting output attribute
Geometry nodes: A node to `Join Geometry``. Add any other geometry
Crash when a node tries to create a slice from an empty span

Thats nice. Thanks.
