blender_theme_as_c.py, recreation of userdef_default_theme.c fails #102351

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19045-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 522.33

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.4.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2022-10-19 10:48, hash: f0fba1a2d8
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)
I think this worked with Blender 3.3.0.

Short description of error
When you run the blender_theme_as_c.py in source\tools\utils, then you get a bunch of python error messages. And the recreation of the userdef_default_theme.c in release\datafiles\userdef fails

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
[Please describe the exact steps needed to reproduce the issue]
[Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible)]

  • Open cmd or bash
  • navigate to source\tools\utils
  • Make sure you have a userpref.blend and place it where ever you want. I place it usually in the same folder in release\datafiles\userdef So i can simply use the file name.
  • At Windows run python blender_theme_as_c.py userpref.blend or py -3 blender_theme_as_c.py userpref.blend when you have python 2 still installed.
  • At Linux run python3 blender_theme_as_c.py userpref.blend

I tried it on Ubuntu and Windows 10. It failed at both platforms.

blender_theme_as_c.py is of course a utility to modify Blender, not a Blender feature. But it is needed to create the default theming. And it is currently broken.
