%%%Hello!
Here simple file with three ztransparent cubes and three balls in it.
All cubes differ only meshes center position.
But when cubes run (run game play for it), the balls render as located over the cube when ball located at the right side of the mesh center and it renders as located into the cube when ball located at the left side of the mesh center.

The bug appears as in Blender 2.49b as in Blender 2.52.5 (r29916M).
If you rotate camera so it "see" scene from left side it renders on the contrary (as located into the cube at the right side of the mesh center and as located over the cube at the left side of the mesh center).
It doesn't depend on lighting.

GFX: GeForce4 MX 440/AGP/SSE2
OS: Ubuntu 10.04
Drivers: 1.5.8 NVIDIA 96.43.17
Blender: 2.52.5 SVN, 2010-07-03 13:10:32 (GMT +0400)%%%

%%%I have found that there is the bug in the next file:

blender/source/gameengine/Rasterizer/RAS_BucketManager.cpp

The function OrderBuckets() sorts alpha-objects by Z-buffer. The sorting bases on center of objects only.

I have done simple patch which changes the RenderAlphaBuckets() function according with RenderSolidBuckets().

I believe that developers would not to do the differences between these functions without reasons. But I don't see any bugs added with this patch and the bug of this topic have gone out with the patch.

%%%I don't think this is the right way to go. RenderAlphaBuckets() supposed to be different. It handles sorting alpha buckets (via a call to OrderBuckets()). I get the feeling you just got lucky with your patch. I'm not sure your patch would work on more "complex" scenes. %%%
