UV IMAGE INFO: Add bit depth and detected color space to info view
Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description
To clarify some of the image details in the UV Image view infomation popup, this patch adds bit depth and color space information.

TL; DR Blender keeps two internal buffers for an image and they are not treated equally in all instances. This patch makes some of that internal information more clear to the artist. It is accessed through the UV Image Editor when the mouse is clicked during image viewing.

It also revealed a bug in the current code that would always display decimal values for all images, despite some being 8bpc.
Adding a screenshot.

I did't think it makes much sense now. First of all, color space you know know for sure from the Input Colorspace option. Second of all, bits per channel are being reported in the N-panel already. Dont' see why you need that in the sampling line.

Thank for the patch, but closing int now.
