"Snap To" Glitching in Object Mode #32924

%%%In some instances - usually in Object Mode - the "Snap To" does not work properly.

In the attached .Blend, you'll see that there are two very simple Meshes. However, when you try to use "Snap To" to just connect their corners (in Object Mode), then it just starts randomly "Snapping To"....air! It just snaps to nothing at all. Again, I've noticed similar issues in the past.

(There is a work-around, which is just to go to Edit Mode. However, then you lose your Origin Point, it's cumbersome, and having Modifiers on the Mesh can complicate that further. And, of course, the glitch still exists if you're just working around it.)

Thanks to everybody who works at Blender, as always!%%%

%%%I fear this is not a bug, but rather the snapping tool not being as advanced as you'd expect. It snaps the bounding box of the mesh to vertices in object mode, not vertices to vertices. It would be useful to have an option for that in object mode, but will not consider it a bug.%%%

%%%Ah, that explains it, then.

(Yes, I agree that this is then "not advanced" as I would have expected. Although that must be an elective choice rather than any sort of technological restriction, because I imagine that it'd probably be pretty simple to allow for it. It would be good if the user could opt to snap either the Bounding Box or the Vertice, Edge, Face, whatever.)

Anyway, thank you for the explanation! This had quite a few people at BlenderQA stumped, so I'll relay your explanation the next time I'm there.%%%
