Blender don't write texture emission on collada export
Closed, ArchivedPublic

--- Operating System, Graphics card ---
Mac OS X.

--- Blender version with error, and version that worked ---

--- Short description of error ---
Collada exported model with faces with shading emitter set to 1+ don't and a applied texture UV don't displays a white face.

--- Steps for others to reproduce the error (preferably based on attached .blend file) ---
Create a box, unwrap all faces, create a UVmap and a texture file with a lot of details.
On Material set the texture to apply to object with UVmap.
On shading properties set emit to 1.
You will see on 3d view that faces will bright in darkest areas ok.
Export to Collada on Mac OS X.
On Finder you will see the exported .dae file and you can preview it.
Note that brightest faces are white, without textures.
Open .dae file in any text editor app.
See that emission properties have only color attributes inside. Blender don't write texture attribute.
If you delete color attribute inside and paste a texture line like another texture line from model, you will see in preview the texture works.
Of course, maybe I have do something wrong.

Gaia, can you check on this?

The entire material/light section is only very basically implemented so far. There are a lot of missing features here and the compatibility of the exported dae files is questionable for that section. So we will need to rework materials&lights and make that more feature complete and more compatible to other 3D applications like Maya. There is currently no time schedule for this rework, hence i put this report into the TODO List.

Collada Import bugs will be investigated for Blender 2.67

For this reason this Report has been set as "Closed/Todo" and linked from our wiki page.

You can still update this report with more detailed information until it gets reopened/fixed.
