Not sure if bug or feature, but camera clipping occurs through a plane in blender render, cycles clips using a sphere.
Making architectural sections are a no go now.

Use attached file, hit render in either BI or cycles.

This could be changed once, but for such sections being able to only clip from the camera direction is limited anyway, I think we should implement a proper method to do this.
