3D Mouse only orbit
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Linux x86_64, ATI HD6950

Blender 2.66 RC with error, and Blender 2.65a worked.

With 2.66 RC i can use only orbit axes of my 3D Connexion SpaceNavigator (for Notebooks) e.g. rotate view around focused objects. Removing configs don't help.
In 2.65a all axes work as they should work (i can fly free).

To reproduce: launch Blender 2.66 RC and try to fly with your SpaceNavigator.

I can properly navigate with my 3D Connexion SpacePilot PRO.

We just switched back to how it was before 2.64. See the release notes:

Or in short: default NDoF input keeps the view pivot, which is useful for modeling. It also supports "rotate/zoom around selection", which is popular for modeling and texturing as well.

Full free fly mode was only working well for more experienced ndof users, but you can set this back in the keymap editor if you like.

This sounds like a good candidate for a mode which can be toggled.
