Project timer in Info window
Closed, ArchivedPublic

Project: Blender Extensions
Tracker: Py Scripts Upload
Blender: 2.66
Category: User Interface
Python: 3.2
Script name: Project Timer
Author(s): Martin Zielinski
Status: Open

Timer located in Info window that indicates time spent on particular project. Time values are stored in blend file to keep record.
Timer is refreshed along with Info window so moving mouse over Info window is needed to see updated time.

Now timer will stop counting when you stop working for longer than 30s

Nice addon, you should add a wiki page!

I love this Add-on! But I have a problem. Since I have saved my startup file the time starts at about 15:45 when I open Blender. So if there is a possibility to add a reset button that would be great!

I'm not sure where I should add this file (I can't edit my task?), so I put it in this comment.
I added project timer reset button to addon's preferences.

Thanks a lot! That works pretty well! Although I can only get it to start at about 5-7 seconds due to having to update the timer with the mouse and then saving the settings.
This is really good enough but It's got me wondering, I have no experience with programing but would it be possible to get it to always start at 0?
Sorry if I'm asking too much. I really appreciate your work!

Try this:

  1. Open Blender
  2. Disable Project Timer add-on
  3. Open Python Console area and type ` C .scene.projectTime = 0 `
  4. Overwrite your startup file and reboot Blender
  5. You can enable add-on again

Happy Blending

Now that works great! Thanks a lot! :)

Aaron Carlisle (Blendify) raised the priority of this task from Normal to Needs Triage.Mar 28 2016, 11:49 PM

Waiting for re-triage this is quite old and note sure if this is worth it. It may be worth adding to another addon such as the Amaranth Toolset or Scene Information

Sergey Sharybin (sergey) triaged this task as Normal priority.Mar 29 2016, 10:21 AM

We'll be reviewing this later.

hi, closing as archived, this addon does work but the need to either save or hover the mouse over the Infor header for the time to update is not good.
I believe this would be better done in c as a complete function.
