Random Vertices Being Selected Using Box Select Tool #38523

System Information
Operating system and graphics card
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Nvidia GTX260

Blender Version
Broken: 2.5xx to 2.68.0 r58537
Worked: 2.49 and all previous

Short description of error
Random vertices are being selected when using the box select tool while "Limit Selection To Visible" is on.
Video card setting Antialiasing is on.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
In edit mode with "Limit selection to visible" on (can't see through mesh) press B to use the box select tool. Draw a box around the multiple vertices you want to select.
The vertices within the selection box are selected, however other random vertices outside the box selection all over the mesh are also being selected.
Turning "Limit selection to visible" off (can see through mesh) does not result in random vertices outside the selection box being selected. This is not a fix.
This is a persistant issue and easily repeated.

A tempory work around is to disable video card antialiasing. This is not acceptable.
This is a long time on going issue since the introduction of version 2.5xx
I believe this is a known unresolved issue.

Please fix ASAP

Are you using the multisample option in the Blender user preferences?

That's the one you should use, if you use the graphics driver option to override antialiasing it's out of our control.

I've been using mostly default settings.
I see multisampling in the System tab. It is set to No Multisample.
I am trying Multisampe:8 It seems to help. I will report if there is any further problems.

Thanks,
ZZ
