Yes, that was disabled to purpose based on feedback from motrack artists members.

I don't get it. If someone don't want it to be transparent - he can just not enable it. No need to remove the function really.

Now it is very inconsistent with all the other Regions that have transparency: 3D Viewport, Image Editor, Video Sequence Editor... - all have working transparency for Region...

It's not just transparency, it's mainly bout region overlap (and without region overlap transparency doesn't make sense?).

You never want your markers to be occluded by any panel and want to control their position as accurate as possible. And when you've got region overlap enabled you couldn't quickly see the whole frame without occlusion -- frame will be scaled to the full region size.

I would prefer to just separate the 3D Region Overlap, so you can enable it for 3d Viewport and disable it for Movieclip Editor. (for example)

I liked region overlap in clip editor.. ;-)
