I'm having difficulty understanding your description of the bug...
Okay, so is the issue that you can't use the rig with Blender's built-in Auto IK feature? Unfortunately, that is not a bug, but rather a known limitation of how the rigs are built. Only continuous bone chains work with auto-ik, and the arm controls of Rigify rigs are not continuous chains.
