Sergey Sharybin (sergey) raised the priority of this task from Needs Information from User to Confirmed, Medium.Mar 25 2014, 5:58 PM

This is somehow corrupted file and real fix would be to prevent corruption.

Do you remember how to reproduce such situation from scratch?

Basically is the standard workflow, adding video/images strips for animation references.
This is a bug tha I detected/suffer arround 3/years.

May be I could be caused for a custom statup blend file?

I will investigate this point tonight

Campbell Barton (campbellbarton) lowered the priority of this task from Confirmed, Medium to Needs Information from User.

I tried using with the default startup and default preferences, Blender crases all the times when try delete "jur" strip from "VSE_Blender_CRASH.blend"

Maybe it could be usefull for you another blend file with the same proeblem?

No, it wouldn't really help having such a file, it would help knowing exact steps of reproducing such a file. It's a bug in some tool which leaves file in a corrupted state and corrupted file is not really helpful to find this tool..

Closing, can re-open if we have steps to redo crash.

Steps to Reproduce:

1-Open "Low.Blend"

  1. In VSE load vlc.mp4

3- Delete the Strip and Blender Crash

@Daniel Martinez Lara (pepeland), once again -- having steps of reproducing the crash on a corrupted files does not help at all. The file you've provided (Low.blend) has a meta-strip which is currently being edited but this strip doesn't have link to a parent. You could reproduce the crash pressing TAB in that file.

We do need a steps to reproduce such a corrupted file, nit steps of how to crash corrupted file.

corrupted file? it's a surprise, for me is "clean file", I don see ani meta-strip in VSE, so this is the problem, the file was corrupted time ago somehow.
I just append all the data to a new Blend file and know works.

Thanks for you time.

Bye :)
