Mask modifier not working in VSE

Short description of error
Adding an image sequence mask to a stip in the VSE doesn't currently work.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Add image sequence strip in the VSE
  2. Add another black & white (B&W) image sequence strip in the VSE to be used for masking
  3. Place B&W strip above strip to be masked
  4. Hide B&W strip
  5. Select image sequence to be masked
  6. Add a mask modifier from the side panel (Add Strip Modifier/Mask)
  7. Choose B&W strip in the mask input field for the mask strip modifier
  8. Mask doesn't work.

I'm not sure why exactly you consider the mask modifier doesn't work in the attached file?

Ah, just did a render and I can see that the masking is just not showing in the VSE preview window. See the attached screen shot (VSE above, render below).

I couldn't confirm the issue with the file you've attached actually. Both preview and final render works fine here.

Also worth testing fresh builds from builder.blender.org.

Ah yeah, build from builder.blender.org works fine. Sorry about that, must be something happening in the build I'm making from git. I'll be sure to check that next time before taking up your time. Also, the new bug tracking system is really nice, very fancy. Keep up the good work :)
