Thomas, Martijn, could look similar to #41172, but not sure…
@thebigben: did you install the VC2013 runtime? See also the note in download page…

◀ Merged tasks: #40976.
Merged in the other report, as it's both times Windows 7 x64. I still have no idea what is going on, I run a Windows 7 x64 system myself and don't experience these issues.

Had similar problem. Windows 7 64 bit with vc restributables all updated. Solved it by upgrading windows to service pack 1.

Does nobody have a solution? I can't find a single thing on Google on how to fix it.
Do you all have Service Pack 1 and the latest updates installed for Windows? If not, install it.
@ThomasDinges
Service Pack 1 is already installed.
It's been 5 days with no responses. I'd really like to get Blender fixed.
Could you maybe try today's buildbot after it finishes ?
I have a theory on why this happens but I really could use the feedback.
@MartijnBerger
Just tried the new buildbot. Same crash, same error.
@Flippy can you try launching blender-app.exe ?
please retest with build from the buildbot

@MartijnBerger
That buildbot doesn't work either. It must be something with my computer if ever single version isn't working, but I have no idea what it could be. It was working just fine a year ago. I haven't changed any of my hardware, none of it is damaged. All my drivers are up to date as well.
can you please check to see if you have any python 2.7 environment variables set ?

Since no one from the developers managed to reproduce, and there's no reply in about month now i'm closing the report due to lack of activity.
Will reopen when the requested info is provided.

I HAVE THE SOLUTION
It worked for me.
Download the newest python version.
Locate you python and you blender path.
3.Go to YOUBLENDERPATH/YOURBLENDERVERSION.
4.There should be a folder called python.
Make a copy of that folder.
Copy you WHOLE Python Folder(That you have downloaded/installed) into the YOUBLENDERPATH/YOURBLENDERVERSION folder.
Blender should work now.

You basically just shouldn't have any python in the PATH, that confuses blender. To be mentioned: when official python builds will be compiled with msc2013 it should be no longer an issue to have python in search path.
