VSE scene sequence strips volume level affects volume levels in original scene. #41790

When editing scene strips in separate 'Edit' scenes, I have found that lowering the volume (to prevent over mixing of two instances of the same sample) the volume is affected in the original scene. On saving and reloading, the original volume is restored and the volume in the 'Edit' scene is now played back also. It seems that changing the audio level of a Scene strip in one scene affects audio levels in all scenes - is this expected behaviour?

If so , it may be a good solution to have a specific mute function for scene strips to prevent this confusion and may also save resources. The situation where I am encountering this is common to music video / visual production as you often have to sync many different shots / scenes to the same track and need to establish animation sync in the root scenes as well as in the master edit.VSE_audiotest.blend

If you're talking about Audio Volume slider of the Scene strip then it's indeed modifying the scene's volume and it's not possible to have different volume level for the scene strip and and scene edit.

This was rather known limitation, but now i've made sure it's mentioned in the VSE TODO: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:2.5/Source/Development/Todo/Tools#Sequence_Editor

@Psy-Fi might be interested here since he's stepping into VSE improvements nowadays.

Thanks for the report, but closing as a TODO.
