Knife Tool | Broken Navigation When Customized #41952

Short description of error
When I activate the Knife Tool my navigation is broken - I can not navigate. All the cuts have to be restricted to what I currently see.
I use custom Hotkeys for navigation, Maya/Silo like:
ALT + LMB: Rotate
ALT + MMB: Pan
ALT + RMB: Zoom

I will provide you with my UserSettings/Startup for easier testing.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Use my provided UserSettings/Startup.
Add a cube > Enter EditMode > K (for Knife)
You won't be able to navigate.
As mentioned, my navigation is remapped to:
ALT + LMB: Rotate
ALT + MMB: Pan
ALT + RMB: Zoom

Thanks for the report, but this is a known limitation (many edit tools currently use hardcoded keymaps, instead of nice editable ones), not considered a bug.

Hey guys,

I just wanted to drop back in and mention that this is resolved. As I'm digging deeper into Input customization I realized that with the 'Knife Tool Modal Map' one can achieve alternate navigation.

Not sure if this is something fairly new or just something that went under my radar. Either way, I'm sure you guys know about it.

Just in case, here's a screenshot of my setup:
