Blender crashes when I change UV map of a texture #42066

Mac OS X 10.9.5
MacBook Pro Retina Mid 2012

Blender Version
Broken: 2.72 RC

Short description of error
Blender just crashes when I try to change UV map of a texture{F114512}

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Just open .blend file and try to change Map of the texture under Mapping tab from nothing to UVMap.

P.S. One interesting observation: when you change 3D view to Solid and change UV Map, Blender won't crash, but you can't change it back to Material as it will crash.

Cannot confirm this here with latest master (linux64)… Maybe plat-form specific? Or a dummy GPU/driver issue?

I cannot reproduce this here on my MacPro.
Can you give a crashlog, perhaps retina related ?

Works without VBO, but when I enable it again after changing the UV map it crashes.

Although my mesh is invisible when not selected and when I select it it is rendered as wireframe even though Viewport shading is material.

Sure i must crash, but this leads us to perhaps find a workaround for this NVidia driver related issue.
Not perfectly the area i'am working much, but will try my very best ;)

The issue reported can't be reproduced so far, and has been moved to the BF Blender: Unconfirmed project.
If 2 other people aren't able to redo the bug after 2 weeks, it will be closed.

We appreciate the effort that goes into making bug reports, but to be able to fix bugs we have to be able to redo them.
If there is anything you can provide to help others to reproduce the problem, be sure to include it.
