Vertex colors strange behaviour
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Blender Version
Broken: 2.72a

Short description of error
How can exist such a situation in vertex paint mode?
http://s17.postimg.org/jy2di98pr/screenshot_2014_10_22_at_17_38_57.jpg

  1. blue vertex
  2. grey vertex

and no gradient between them!

And even more!
(This is not a bug, but... a feature request?)
It is impossible to set some color to the vertex (or selection of vertices). Vertex colors work for masking sometimes in the game engines. I need this very often while making models for... for example Milestone (MotorGP ect). So i have now to paint the mesh carefuly or use 3dsmax for assigning colors to selected vertices (instead of selecting a loop and pressing somewhere "Set selected color" in blender).

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Mask some area in vertex pain mode, press Shift+K

I think there is a mixup of terminology here. We need a real test file to be able to reproduce the issue and tell whether it is really a bug and how it could be fixed.

There is no need in test file. New subdivided plane can do the thing) Subdivide, select a face, fill with color [in vertex paint mode, of course])

Bastien Montagne (mont29) claimed this task.

Vertex paint actually paints faces' corners… No bug here, works as expected.

That information is a new thing to me.
I'm sorry for this "bug" then.

But please, make it possible to assign color to selected vertices!
Thank you!
