Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open User Preferences -> Input, then choose preset other than the default (say “Maya” for eg). then assign a new keymap for Loop Cut and Slide, save the configuration. Then restart Blender to see whether it was successfully assignd, or initialized.

Thanks for checking.

I can confirm that the Input Editor is broken. Saving presets has a major bug.
I've been editing hotkeys quite a bit for a while.

Creating a new preset will not save (some) edited hotkeys.
I found that Save User Settings usually does. This means you manually have to backup the old version before doing this.

But I have a feeling that some stuff is not saved even like that, you actually need the whole 2.72 folder in order to correctly apply edited hotkeys. Very weird indeed.

Hey Leon,
This is actually the same bug as in #42485. From the code side, this is broken by design. I know exactly where the issue lies, but it seems to me we need to update quite a bit of the system beneath. I'll look deeper into that during bcon4.
As always: Thanks for the report :)
