System Information
Ubuntu

Blender Version
Broken: 2.73a bbf09d9

Short description of error

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
If we use a shape key to drive another shape key, the driven shape does not update automatically. One has to click the "Update Dependencies" button in the drivers graph editor. Please check uploaded file driversWShape_keys.blend . (The cube is the driver and the cone is the driven).

Interestingly, if we keyframe the driver, the driven shape key updates as it is supposed to do.

Could be just a limitation of current dependency graph. Will let @JoshuaLeung to give a final verdict here tho.

Wouldn't consider this a bug now, it's simply not supported in the old depsgraph but is supported in the new one.

You can switch to the new depsgraph by using --enable-new-dpesgraph command line argument. Eventually when we're sure all the issues are fixed in the new depsgraph it'll become new default, but currently it's a bit dangerous to do such a change.

So thanks for the report, but will close it now since it's fixed with the new dpeendnecy graph.
