Hi, I'm get involved again on Blender modelling, and I use for testing, the Blender internal render engine, but I think have a bug on the environment HDRI map because don't show the preview and don't render the environment, In Cycles work fine.

Blender Bugs_EnvMap.blend file included

Environment maps in blender internal are expected to be either square (then planar mapping is used) or have height equals to 1.5 of width, then cube mapping is used. Your image can not be used as an environment map.

There's also difference in behavior of Environment Map in BI and Environment Image node in Cycles. Some details are there http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Manual/Textures/Mapping/Environment

Thanks for the report, but it doesn't seem to be something to be fixed here.
