the joystick is not working properly. The sensors button and hat{F147231} are no longer at the Blender version 2.72 and earlier

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on a (as simple as possible) attached .blend file with minimum amount of steps

(T43876 might be similar/duplicate)

Looks like there is something wrong with Joysticks currently... IIRC there were some changes made to this... @Sybren A. Stüvel (sybren), @Inês Almeida (brita_), any chance you know more? (Or someone else)

I added more information to the "System Info" text, so we can debug SDL issues (like this) a bit easier.

Could you also tell us which version of Windows you're using? In the bug report you just mention "64 bit".

Also please include a .blend file that allows us to easily test your issue. The text "Exact steps for others to reproduce the error" in the report template was there for you to actually fill out. It is essential to help us reproduce your issue.

Exact steps for others to reproduce error:
Open .blend file,press P, in game mode if you use button and hat of Xbox joystyck in blender 2.72 the empty (and cube associate) move well.
But if you use blender 2.73 or 2.74 testbuild the joystick sensors button and hat is not working properly.

I will receive a Xbox controller in the next days and then I will try to fix it.

I have tested my new Xbox 360 controller :-) and it is working like a charm (buttons and hat).

Using blender 2.74 under opensuse 13.1 64 bits. I will check under windows 7 64 bits and come back to report.

Ok, I confirm the bug under windows 7.

The mapping of the buttons/hat has changed totally. It seems that SDL2 is using a new API (XInput) which uses a different mapping [1]. A solution for new controller (like xbox one) is to use the new SDL2 Gamecontroller API [2] among with sdlgamecontrollerdb.txt [3].

Maybe it would be a good task to ammend this issue and to implement support for haptic (vibration) and hotplugging. I will see what can I do.

{F159580}I made a small game (press P) to ensure the best match and the bad one of the input result of "buttons" and "hat" of the xbox controller. Until blender 2.72a is perfect and unfortunately in 2.73 and 2.74 do not. I tried this on Vista 32-bit and gives the same defect.

My left joystick up/down axis work,

but left right does not,

I tried remapping using x360ce but apparently blender does not recognize the .dll it generated?

tested rc 2.74.5 32 bit and 64 bit - same behavior

Yes, it is a SDL2 issue in windows (due to using a new API (XInput)). I'm working on a patch to add support to the new SDL2 Gamecontroller API among with sdlgamecontrollerdb.txt that it seems that solve the issues. I hope it will be ready before 2.76

it needs 4-5 hours more of coding work (without baby's cry interruptions :-)).

But a quick fix for those that need it now. You only have to replace the SDL2.dll by the former one (SDL.dll). this way it will work as before. Take it as temporal fix.

with converting back to SDL.dll, do I just delete a file (SDL2.dll) from blender somewhere, and add in the new one, or do I need to recompile blender ?
