Snapping along one of the axis #44062

OS: Windows 7 Professioanl SP1
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650

Broken: 2.73a bbf09d9

While I'm moving vertex along axis z with normal edge transform orientation, program is marking my snap target by circle, but vertex is in wrong place (his place is on the edge).

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Press g key to move vertex.
  2. Press twice z key to choose axis
  3. Hover mouse on the left edge

I see no bug here, what would you expect as behavior here? I cannot imagine anything really useful anyway…

Note you cannot place the vertex on the edge with that axis-constraint, it is simply impossible.

Left edge is in the same plane with second edge transform orientation. I think it must intersect in one point. This point is my problem.

This blend file is simplified error model and it is very necessary in many mesh operations for me.

Ok, see the point… Not quite sure this is a bug really, though, neither how to handle that kind of situations… :/

The current function in this case is unnecessary. Logic is to attract only to edge, of course if this is in accordance with the principles of geometry 9 one plane :D)

Current snapping system is unaware of transform constraints. Surely it'll be nice to make it aware of them, but it's actually known limitation listed there http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:2.5/Source/Development/Todo/Tools#Transform
